About Basildon Park Weddings

A wedding surrounded by culture and history

Built in the 18th Century as a Palladian mansion, Basildon Park is set in extensive parkland. Basildon Park is an intimate venue for your wedding. Built between 1776 and 1783, it was home of Sir Francis Sykes who made his fortune in India.

Today Basildon displays the high life of the 18th century and was host as a location for the 2005 feature film adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic ‘Pride and Prejudice’.

You will feel special on your wedding getting married among the suite of perfectly restored rooms intended for the great entertainments of country house life. At home in history, Basildon Park is the perfect location for your ceremony, followed by drinks in the lawns and a marquee reception!

Wedding Ceremonies at Basildon Park, National Trust

The Parkland and gardens provide unique photograph opportunities with gorgeous backdrops of luxurious sandstone walls and pillars set in the rural country side of Berkshire.

The Grand Hall

The Grand Hall is a beautifully designed room with elegant plaster work. If this is not enough then remember it has views out onto the portico and over the estate. A perfect choice for a luxurious wedding!

The Garden Room

This room has a wooden floor with pillars inside and overlooks the lawn and valley giving a gracious feel captured from history. Smaller than the Grand Hall in terms of capacity size this room feels more intimate.

Marquee Receptions

The front of the croquet lawns are perfect for a marquee and are available to hire for receptions and dancing. Perfect for a late summers evening!
