Forever After Images { the blog }

Hi there!

Oops, you have stumbled across my old blog! I am now under www.rosieparsons.com/blog with a whole new fun look!

You can stay here and have a good look at all the past weddings I've shot, but for the latest news and goings on you'll want to be over here!

Look forward to seeing you on the other side :)

Rosie

moving on up!

You may have noticed it’s been rather slow on here of late… well now to tell you why! I’ve been working on my new look - I’m now calling myself Rosie Parsons Photography instead of Forever After Images and I have a whole new website and look to show you! The reason for the change is because I wanted my business to be more personal and more fun!

All existing clients won’t notice any change except you’ll have a new funky brochure heading your way in the next couple of weeks, and my email address is now rosie@rosieparsons.com (but I will still be checking my other accounts!).

So just to warn you, this blog will no longer be updated as from today - so head on over to www.rosieparsons.com and www.rosieparsons.com/blog to join in all the action!

adam and carla {wedding}

The Beetle & Wedge near Goring was the location for Adam and Carla’s lovely waterside wedding on Saturday. The whole day including the ceremony was held at the venue, right on the river Thames.

To be able to have the outdoors ceremony Carla and Adam had to officially get wed at the register office earlier in the morning, but that meant that they could then have the unofficial wedding wherever they liked. Plus I was allowed to shoot throughout the ceremony and the registrars were really nice and relaxed which made it extra nice for me!

Carla’s theme for the day was sunflowers and they really brightened the place everywhere the guests went, very cheerful! It was also being great right next to the river seeing all the boats go past with people waving, and the gorgeous swans with their baby signets who came to say hello!

I must also mention Carla’s amazing Mum Ana (who runs Silva Cakes) - she not only made the wedding cake, but also Carla’s stunning wedding dress! I could not believe my ears when Carla told me! What a talented mum!

Venue: The Beetle & Wedge
Music: The Clarendon Quartet
Flowers: The White GDN, Henley on Thames
Transport: Nostalgia Travel (Vintage Routemaster) and Allerston Taylor Regency Carriages
Hairstyling: Dee Harris
Dress: Ana Allen (Bride’s Mum!)

Not entirely appropriate, but it tickled me!

Beautiful yellow sunflowers everywhere!

Adam was not really into the whole posing for the camera kinda deal, so I gave the groom shots a nice and laidback vibe and I’m pretty sure I heard later on in the day he was actually quite enjoying being photographed ;)

Vicky Osborne - Beautiful photographs, so natural, everyone looks so relaxed, I always freeze when a camera is around. You're very talented.

Chanelle Segerius-Bruce - Lovely set Rosie! Awesome location for a wedding

holiday to tucany { personal }

Ahhh, it’s been a very long time for me to actually sit down and upload these, but in April we had a great couple of weeks away in Tuscany (hurrah!).

It was so great to get away for a little bit, and we first dropped in on our fave place in the world - Barga near Lucca. We stayed at the same place as last year - with Ron and Susi Gauld at Casa Fontana. They always get 5 star ratings on Trip Advisor and there’s a good reason why - their attention to detail, their caring attitude and the amazing location are all spectacular. We love it there (especially the ice cream shop around the corner from theirs)!

We had some really fun times - from a giant grasshopper which leapt onto the table to make friends with Lee on our first day, to revisiting the most amazing ice cream parlour in the world (had to return for the trifle flavour!). We also drove up really high into the mountains and got a bit of a fright when we emerged out of a long tunnel into the middle of a storm cloud - not under it, but right in the centre of it! Rather frightening to have thunder clap and lightening streak right past the windscreen while being bombarded with chunks of icy hailstone!

After a week exploring in Barga we headed southwards past Siena to a little known place called Buoncovento, where we stayed on a gorgeous hilltop farm run by Stefania with dogs, horses, goats and chickens! It was a bit too chilly to use the lovely infinity pool overlooking the Tuscan countryside, but perhaps we’ll have the chance to return later next year when the temperature has warmed up a bit!

Here are some of my fave pics from our trip!

Mark - Nice shots! Looks like a beautiful area.

Mara (Wedding Cabaret) - stunning!!

Steve Gerrard Photography - Evelyne and I have traveled a lot but this area is top of the list of places we still need to visit. Great images Rosie. The horse shot is stunning.

joy’s ordination { personal }

My lovely cousin Joy was ordained into the Church of England on Saturday at St Paul’s Cathedral, London. It was really nice to be back at the Cathedral (I photographed James and Steph’s wedding there last year) and especially great to be celebrating this very special day with my Mum’s side of the family. We also bumped into quite a few friends from when we lived in Oxford as well which was fun!

We headed into London a little early and got a quick drink at the Tate Modern at their lovely bar overlooking the Thames. I often wonder if they do weddings at the Tate - you could get some amazing wedding portraits there!

The weather was amazing and we are so proud of Joy! We know she is going to make an awesome vicar because she is full of love for everyone she meets. Any church is very lucky to have her. Congrats Joy! x

rosie@foreverafterimages.com - Thanks Brandon!

Brandon Mulnix - The rich tones in your work is incredible. I am impressed that an event that I would be so not drawn to is making me comment. Your family is blessed for your talent. The tongue sticking out shots broke up the normal! Great job.

neal + miho { wedding }

I’d never been to Edinburgh before, so it was rather exciting to head North… and North…. and then North some more (!) to Scotland for Neal and Miho’s fab wedding at Edinburgh’s stunning wedding venue The Hub, right in the old centre of the city by the castle.

I did drive - retrospect is a wonderful thing! - but it was interesting to see the countryside (and the accents) change every time I stopped for a break. All the roads above Manchester were also nice and clear which meant it was really fun to drive and I saw some brilliant things including cows crossing over a motorway bridge with blue sky behind - very picturesque!

Neal and Miho had both the ceremony and the reception at The Hub, and with it being my first time there I was taken aback at the brilliant bright colours. It made for a fantastic backdrop to the ceremony photos especially.

Here are some of my personal favourites!

david + shan { engagement }

I am really looking forward to shooting David and Shan’s wedding later this year. For their engagement portraits we headed to Shan’s University - Royal Holloway in Surrey. I’d seen the outside before as my friend Simon also went there, but I’d never had the time to look around properly. The buildings are really impressive, and we got some really fun shots in the library (shhh!). We also headed around a few other rooms and into the chapel which had intense rich colours and ornate detail - beautiful!

rosie@foreverafterimages.com - Aw, thanks Clara! I love your blog - brilliant to see you are also in Bristol!

ClaraBows - These are simply stunning photographs. I'm getting married in August and am kicking myself now I've already booked someone...... You're a very talented photographer (runs off to check the contract!).

Shan & David - Hi Rosie, Thank you so much for the photos. They are beautiful and we love them! xxx

michael jackson rip { personal }

Just a quick blog post to say how sad and shocked I am to hear that Michael Jackson has died today. I really can’t believe it - I mean I know we all die one day, but when I was growing up I was such a big fan of his. It seems very strange to be in a world without him!

I saw him live many times during my teenage years - mainly across Europe (in Paris and Munich). I made some great friends attending those gigs and MJ was the best performer I’ve ever seen. Such an exciting show, and he was the person who inspired me to try harder and not accept just what life gave me but to aim for what I really wanted to do.

He will be sadly missed by millions, especially those who would have been looking forward to seeing him for his London shows starting next month. After such a turbulent life I really hope he is able to rest in peace.

off to edinburgh { personal }

Hey all,

I’m about to start my journey to Edinburgh for Neal and Miho’s wedding (fortunately I have kind cousins letting me stay with them half way into 7 hour drive!) and will have very limited internet access, so may not be contactable til Monday. Feel free to still drop me an email though (rosie@foreverafterimages.com) and I’ll get back to you when I return!

See ya soon!

Rosie

mike + ruth { wedding }

Ahh, I have been a very bad blogger! Slapped wrist! I’ve been so run off my feet with all these amazing summer weddings kicking off, lots of album designing to do and very excitingly I’m also all wrapped up in designing my new site and new look branding - hurrah! I can’t give too much away right now, suffice to say it’s going to be a lot more fun, funky and friendly around here very soon! :)

Right, onto business! My latest wedding was a stunning Saturday afternoon at Le Manoir Aux Quat Saisons near Oxford. What a venue! Owned by Raymond Blanc, this has to be one of my most favourite places to shoot ever. The gardens are absolutely stunning and they change so much with the seasons. The last time I photographed here I was doing a model shoot in October. The gardens were full of fiery reds and oranges and there were pumpkins dotted around the gardens. Now it’s summer, and the beautiful purple lavender is out in full bloom (I wish it was so successful in my own garden!).

Ruth looked absolutely amazing in her beautiful grecian style dress and I loved the peonies that made her colourful bouquet. She also had decorated the church with fabulous flowers - such a great colour scheme!

I really enjoyed meeting Ruth and Mike’s families - both the Dads were especially a laugh, particularly Ruth’s who kept giving the camera deadpan looks and then winking. Lol!

We were really blessed with the weather on Saturday - it stayed perfect right up until the start of the sit down meal when big splashes of rain dropped down - luckily by then it didn’t matter!

Enjoy these highlights!

susie + dan { wedding }

After a week of blissful sunshine I couldn’t believe the downpour that started the day off for Susie and Dan’s Hungerford wedding at the beautiful Littlecote House Hotel!

I had a backup plan in mind, but fortunately the rain eased off just as I arrived at the Bear Hotel in Hungerford to shoot Susie’s getting ready photos. I love shooting at the Bear Hotel, especially in the bridal suite because of the fab black and white flock wallpaper and bright pink bed - just gorgeous!

The ceremony was down the road at St John’s Church followed by a drinks reception and sit down meal at the Littlecote House Hotel. I love all the different rooms in the hotel - from the gallery with the big suit of armor to the library and the colourful chinese room. Really fun!

The reception area was looking amazing with all the flowers decked out on every table and hanging from the roof. Susie had also found some amazing thrones for the marquee which looked stunning with huge carved lions heads!

Enjoy these highlights!
