mike + ruth { wedding }

My latest wedding was a stunning Saturday afternoon at Le Manoir Aux Quat Saisons near Oxford. What a venue! Owned by Raymond Blanc, this has to be one of my most favourite places to shoot ever. The gardens are absolutely stunning and they change so much with the seasons. The last time I photographed here I was doing a model shoot in October. The gardens were full of fiery reds and oranges and there were pumpkins dotted around the gardens. Now it’s summer, and the beautiful purple lavender is out in full bloom (I wish it was so successful in my own garden!).

Ruth looked absolutely amazing in her beautiful grecian style dress and I loved the peonies that made her colourful bouquet. She also had decorated the church with fabulous flowers - such a great colour scheme!

kate + jonathan { wedding }

Kate and Jonathan had a beautiful sunny day for their fab wedding in Newbury a couple of weekends ago.

The church was a bit scarily completely covered in scaffolding - which did provide some last minute stresses for the couple, especially as it didn’t even have an internal floor the week leading up to the big day. Last minute alternative plans were scurried together just incase there would be no aisle for Kate to walk down, but fortunately it all came together in the end and despite the strange outside appearance of the church building it looked great inside!

jonathan & ela { wedding }

Last weekend I had the great pleasure of photographing Jonathan and Ela’s big day in the gorgeous Cotswolds (regular readers may remember their fab engagement session that we shot at Minster Lovell a few months ago).

The whole day was held at the Bay Tree Hotel in Burford, commonly known as the gateway to the Cotswolds and because I always arrive way too early to my wedding day shoots incase of traffic, I had a spare hour to treat myself to a scrumptious elevenses at the very quaint Huffinks Tea Rooms on the high street, yum!

The wedding was really chilled and fun, and the ceremony was held in the gardens (fortunately we had a gloriously sunny day!). Jonathan is a keen photographer himself, so it was great to have a couple who are so up for doing portraits as they are one of my fave parts of the day!

I promised Jonathan and Ela that I’d get some highlights posted before they headed off on honeymoon on Thursday, so guys here they are - enjoy and have a great time away!!

anne & jonathan { engagement }

The title of this post should really be called Anne, Jonathan and the lovely Nelson - as their downright gorgeous Dalmatian accompanied us on their engagement shoot. :)

We had the perfect weather for taking photographs - the sun was out and it was glorious to be walking along in the countryside. We headed to one of their favourite places to walk Nelson and came across these stunning bluebells, which were just the perfect backdrop for their fab purple outfits!

professional photographer magazine { press coverage }

Just a quick note to let y’all know I’m featured in this month’s issue of my favourite photography magazine Professional Photographer!

I was interviewed by the magazine about the hows and whys of doing model shoots, and I explained about how it’s a great opportunity to let your creative juices fly and to try new ideas out that perhaps wouldn’t be the best time to experiment with at a real wedding.

jo & josh { weddings }

Monday’s wedding was a blast from the past! I know both the bride and groom’s families from back in my schooldays in Exeter so it was a real honour to be there watching more history being written! Infact Jo’s sister Sarah is one of my oldest best friends and was one of my own bridesmaids two years ago!

As it was a Monday I thought it would probably be quite a small wedding, but I was wrong! Jo and Josh are very popular and it was lovely to see such a big turnout.

The wedding ceremony was held at Whirlow Grange, a Christian conference centre in Sheffield where Josh’s brother in Law Andrew gave a really great and inspiring talk.

Afterwards the reception was held at the absolutely amazing Hassop Hall with its very grand entrance just down the road. We stopped en route to grab some shots with the rugged moors behind us which was very windy and quite good fun as all the guests drove past beeping and hollering out of the windows - got some good reactions from Jo and Josh on camera!

Melissa - Oh Rosie! These are lovely.

lucy & ian { wedding }

Ian and Lucy’s fab and fun wedding was held at St Andrews in Newcastle Under Lyme followed by a lovely reception at Goldstone Hall in Shropshire.

I know Lucy through church and knew she would have some great ideas to make her wedding really unique, although I had no idea she was planning the coolest wedding transport ever! I loved the AMAZING yellow camper van!

I was only allowed to take two photos during the service (no pressure then!) but I absolutely love the black and white shot of Lucy giving Ian a little look during the ceremony. It’s extra nice knowing I had that pressure!
